A Joyous Celebration of the Year of the Snake with The Canberra Vietnamese Association

Happy New Year to all! We at The Canberra Vietnamese Association would like to extend our heartfelt wishes to every member for a prosperous and joyful year ahead. As we welcomed the Year of the Snake, we gathered to celebrate the first full moon of the Lunar New Year in the most vibrant and traditional way.

The event was a delightful blend of culture, food, music, and fun. We kicked off the festivities with an array of traditional dishes, including the beloved bánh chưng, giò xào, nem rán and more, filling the air with the delicious scents of Vietnam. There’s nothing quite like sharing these comforting foods with friends and family as we step into a fresh new year.

The celebration wasn’t just about food—it was also about embracing our traditions. The event featured lively traditional games and dances that brought out everyone’s competitive spirit and joy. From the nhảy sạp (bamboo dance) to the energetic nhảy dây (jump rope) and ném lon (throw cans), the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. The festivities wouldn’t have been complete without the heartfelt songs performed by our talented members, filling the room with the spirit of the new year.

It was a wonderful occasion, where everyone came together to enjoy not just the food, but the company, the music, and the shared sense of community. We are so thankful to all who joined us and contributed to making this celebration a memorable one.

As we move forward into the Year of the Snake, may it bring health, prosperity, and happiness to all. We look forward to more events and shared moments with our vibrant community!
